September 2024 marks a very special milestone for me - two years since I launched my small business in home decor and gifting! It's hard to believe how quickly time has flown, but here we are, and I couldn't be more excited to celebrate this journey with you all.
To mark the occasion, I decide to host a fabulous pink themed party that was full of joy and reflection.
The Journey So Far
When I started Sweet Decor two years ago I visualised how I wanted it to look and feel in two years time, and it's been everything and more with a rollercoaster of emotions thrown in for good measure.
My dream was to simply bring my love of home, seasonal decor, and beautiful gifting to you all. I wanted to source items that weren't just pretty to look at but also last the test of time. Pieces you or they can treasure for years to come.
I would find myself scouring the internet for hours trying to find those gorgeous decor pieces I so desperately needed but couldn't find. Hunting high and low for lovely gifts for others that never quite seemed to feel unique, and continued to stumble across the same old things. Nothing stood out to me. So this set me on a mission of my own to find unique pieces to suit all seasons and occasions all in one place.
Setting The Scene: A Pink Wonderland
I decided on a pink party because I wanted a theme to mark the celebration and with the winter months approaching I felt like it was a good excuse to have one last colour burst this year. I love pink hence the overall look of my business design too so it just felt right. I wanted to make it a memorable and unique celebration just like our gorgeous products.
I choose to do this at home in my garden with family and friends. From our pink carpet runway, pink sweet treats and styling it felt like the perfect space to host our special 2 year event right where it all began.
A Sweet Treat Pink
The menu was of course as important as the decor, with nothing but pink sweet treats, let's just say there was definitely no calorie counting on this day. We had delicious cakes and treats complimented with pink flutes for a little extra bubbly sparkle to toast.
Our guests were also treated to a personalised Sweet Decor goodie bag to show our appreciation for their love and support.
Showcasing My Business Decor & Gifting
No party would be complete without showcasing the very essence of my small business! My lovely guests were treated to an inside snoop into our showroom so they could see our gorgeous products up close, and to see how far the business has come, and the passion from behind the scenes.
Reflecting On The Journey So Far
As I look back on the Pink Party, I'm filled with gratitude - not just for the growth of my business but for the support of my family, friends and my lovely customers who have supported me through the first 2 years. No one sees the hard work, late nights, and passion that goes on behind the scenes when trying to start a small business from the ground up, so for this I'm forever grateful.
There's Always One
Of course at every themed party there is always that one person who just won't play ball. Unfortunately for me this came in the form of my husband. However other than the fact he wouldn't wear pink he is the most supportive man and I'm extremely lucky to have him by my side. My gorgeous children Chloe and Lleyton thank you for always helping when I need you for anything and telling me you're proud of me. xoxo
Looking Forward
I feel more energised than ever to continue the growth of Sweet Decor and doing what I love most. There are gorgeous new collections on their way to us every month from home statement pieces, seasonal decor and gorgeous gifting. We always have something new to offer our customers.
Lastly I would personally like to say thank you to every single one of you who has played a part in helping my dreams come true, whether that be with a purchase, a shared post or telling your family and friends about us, I appreciate it more than you'll ever know.
Cheers to the next chapter, and all the madness that goes with it, but for now
Stay Creative, Stay Inspired, and Stay Pink!
Sarah xoxo
