As we say a farewell to 2023 and welcome in the blank pages of 2024, now is the perfect time to declutter your home, removing any visual interruptions and start the New Year introduced with a fresh home and a positive feeling of accomplishment.
January is a really good month to think about all the things you want to achieve however big or small and embrace the new year ahead with a positive mindset.
"Clean Home, Clear Mind!"
January can be a difficult month for many of us so it's really important to find ways in which you can help yourself to feel better.
Lift your spirits by planning ahead for the much loved Spring season.
We all welcome the days when the weather starts to feel warmer, longer and brighter. The celebrated sound of birds and animals emerging fill the air, trees begin growing their leaves, and pretty flowers start to bloom.
It's time to begin thinking of ways in which you would like to introduce the spring season back into your home for 2024.
Welcome Colour Back In
Begin by removing those darker winter colours and replace them with some fresh pops of colour to brighten up your living space. I introduce Spring colours back into my home from January because it instantly makes me feel happier and lighter.
Flower's are a lovely place to commence, using real or artificial flowers instantly lifts your home adding immediate colour and compliments filling those vacant spaces needing that little extra something just perfectly.
Plaques
Welcome the Spring season in with something straightforward yet vividly effective. Plaques are a real lovely addition to your home, they bring personality, fun and uniqueness to your surroundings.
Free-standing plaques can be moved around with ease and fill unoccupied spaces beautifully.
Plaques are ideal for seasonal changes and are easily stored when not in use. These will always be a firm favourite at Sweet Decor.
Diffusers & Candles
Embrace the scents of spring back into your home with diffusers and candles.
Instantaneously lift your mood with gorgeous spring scents which also look pretty. This is another effortless, vivid way of filling those clear spaces around your home.
With so many lovely scents to choose from the choices are endless, look for some of these Spring related fragrances upon your search.
Lavender, Rose, Iris, Jasmine, Bergamot, Lemon, Grapefruit, Cherry and floral aromas are all gorgeous.
Decorative Pieces
Adding seasonal decorative pieces throughout the spring season is another feel good step into washing away those January blues. Think about what spring means to you and how you would like your home to look and feel.
In Spring I like my home to feel airy welcoming in lots of open light through the windows. I add decorative pieces across each room of my home from the living room, to the kitchen right through to my bathroom, nothing is of limits.
If you're unsure of how you would like your home to look and feel at this current time take some inspiration from online. If you have time benefit from creating a mood board of all your favourites finds until you decide which is right for you.
Pinterest is great for this.
However you choose to spend the first month of a brand new year purely find what makes you the happiest.
"Live Life In Full Bloom"
Maybe you could get some social events in your calender so you have things to look forward to.
Set goals for the year ahead whether that may be things you would like to achieve in your home from a therapeutic declutter to decorating a room you've wanted to spruce up for ages or maybe it's to make more time for yourself, find what makes you contented and do that!
One of my favourite traditions to do each year is a vision board. Find a quiet space and write down or use a scrap book format of what you'd love your 2024 to look like, it's an exciting way to start the year.
"No Dream Is Too Big!"
Wishing each and everyone of you a very happy and healthy New Year
