When my children were born I invested in a scrap book and collected special photographs, scan pictures, and milestone moments so I could make them something personable for when they're older to look back on.
I added in things I personally wanted to remember which I knew was just a faze, like a funny word they would say or the way they fell to sleep, along with their favourite tv shows, songs and toys.
I also wrote a heartfelt letter to them on the inside cover, so much these days is technology driven so it felt really important to me that they had something which was hand written and from the heart that they could treasure forever.
Yes you can buy books that do all this for you and simply fill it in, but if you want to make it completely your own then I highly recommend doing it this way. It's a lovely rewarding feeling and you can add to it as they grow.
